Anna Kate Melani
(Mulvihill)
(Owner/Teacher)
At the age of 3, Anna Kate Melani (Mulvihill) began her dance training at Mansur Ballet School in Pittsburgh, PA. In December of 2003, she graduated from Eastern University with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Dance. While at Eastern, Anna Kate continued her ballet training with Dr. Joselli Deans, a former member of the Dance Theater of Harlem and received modern training from Dr. Karen Clemente. She has also received training from Point Park University, Dance Alloy, Koresh Dance Company, Contempra Dance Theatre, and Rennie Harris Puremovement. Anna Kate has taught for several years in private and public schools and churches in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, PA. Her desire in class is to be a role model for the students while providing a wholesome and creative environment in the studio. With this passion, Anna Kate founded Bella School of Dance in Sewickley, PA.
Lori Frazer
Lori Frazer and her family just recently moved to the Pittsburgh area in June 2010. She has been dancing since the age of 9, studying ballet, tap and jazz through high school as well as dancing and competing with her high school dance team. After taking a break from dance in college, Lori returned to the studio, focusing her training in modern, lyrical and ballet and training primarily with Kathleen Lobue of Sugar Land Dance Center in Houston, TX. Lori has danced with and choreographed for Sugar Creek Dance Company in Houston, TX the last 9 years, transitioning to Artistic Director the last 4 years. In addition, Lori has been teaching ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern for all different age levels. Lori is also a certified Zumba instructor and teaches at Oxford Athletic Club and Pine Township Community Center. Lori is married and has 2 children, Brandon, age 14 and Whitney age 10. Lori is very excited for the opportunity to teach at Bella School of Dance!
Elizabeth Helsel
Elizabeth began studying dance at the age of 6. She studied ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz for 11 years. She took courses in ballet and pointe from Point Park University. She also has studied ballroom dancing with the Barclay School for four years. Elizabeth has five years experience in liturgical dance as well as eight years of training in musical theater performance. She graduated from Geneva College with a B.S. in Elementary Education and taught third grade for Eden Christian Academy. Elizabeth is married and has 2 children. Joshua is 9 and Abigail is 6. Abigail has been a student at Bella School of Dance for 3 years. Elizabeth also enjoys home schooling, running her photo solutions business, and digital scrap booking. She is thrilled to join the teaching staff at Bella!
Lori Burens
Lori Burens has been dancing since she was 5 years old. Her tap, jazz, and ballet training began at Images in Dance, and David DeMarie Dance Studios in Buffalo, NY. She also spent many summers taking master classes in NYC. Lori continued to dance in college at the University of Pittsburgh and post - college at Point Park University. Lori has taught and choreographed both children and adults for many years. Lori teaches tap for Bella School of Dance.
