Mommy and Me/Creative Movement:  Unitards/leotards, tights, and pink leather ballet slippers.  Loose fitting clothes for boys.

Pre-Dance: Leotards in neutral colors. Pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers, and black tap shoes.

Ballet:  Leotards in neutral colors such as white, pink, or black; pink ballet shoes and pink tights are a must. Levels 3 and 4 should wear split sole ballet slippers.

Jazz:  Tights and leotards in neutral colors.  Black jazz pants and jazz shoes. Ask Miss Anna Kate for specific color of jazz shoes. For modern and lyrical, Dance Paws or FootUdeez are preferred.

Hip Hop:  Loose clothing such as sweatpants, shorts, and t-shirts.  Clean sneakers used only for hip hop are a must!

Tap:  Black tap shoes, leotard, and jazz pants/capris. 

Adult Jazz Funk:  Loose clothing that allows you to move freely and sneakers.

You can purchase dance attire and shoes at two local dance stores. All That Jazz in Wexford, and the Dancer's Barre in Ambridge. There are discounts for Bella students.

Parents, we take our responsibility to teach your children very seriously.  For this reason, we ask that you and your family not congregate in the hall during class time.  The crowding interferes with the focus of the students and the teaching.  Please be sure to mark you calendars for the parent observation week.  All parents and guardians are encouraged to observe the class.  Video and cameras are allowed.  This is the only time for you to see the progress students make. Please don't miss it!

The school does not have a traditional recital.  Our alternative to recitals and the competitions that most studios host are Parent Observation Week and an Annual Spring Performance held in May/June. Regarding costumes:

• We will always choose honorable costumes that are age-appropriate for the performance.
• For each class, the cost of costumes ranges from $35-50.  Costumes are kept simple in order that each student can wear the dance attire again in dance class.

We use all forms of music. There will not be any questionable lyrics or profanity in the music played in classes.

We do no have competitive teams at Bella.  Our school provides plenty of performance opportunities throughout the year in non-competitive venues.  There is an observation week as well as a final Spring Performance.  The teachers at Bella Dance believe that learning proper dance technique and having the confidence and ability to personally create dance choreography themselves is more important than competition.

Students will not be refunded for missed classes.  They are able to take another class to make up for the absence.  If a teacher must cancel a class for any reason, the students will be refunded for the class.  In the case of inclement weather, please call the studio answering machine 724-934-0555 to find out if class is cancelled.  There will be no refunds cancelled classes due to inclement weather.
